Day in the Life: Julie Boudoir
Besties! Have you missed me? I’m back today with a day in the life of your favorite boudoir photographer. Peak Julie happiness, It’s session day mofos! First things first, let’s get some coffee. Or rather, have Kev bring me my coffee. I have a piece of wall art that says, “All men should make coffee for their woman. It says it right in the Bible…. Hebrews.” We live by that when he wakes up earlier. Wake up was 5:30 AM today. Client hair and makeup usually starts at 9AM.
5-9 Before the 9-5
After I shake off the sleep I meditate. Gabby Bernstein is my favorite. Free guided manifesting meditation. I head downstairs to the studio for online class with one of my mentors, Kierra, owner of Sensual Imagery. OOTD is next. Session days I always do light cleaning around the studio to prep. Clean the bathroom, main studio, put away lingerie, etc. I unboxed some product after cleaning, on a live. I checked in with my hair and makeup artist to see where we were at. I laid out all client paperwork, then prepped my area. Setting up lights and equipment. Lastly, in preparation for my baby girl, I’ll light some candles and plug in my Scentsy warmers for the ultimate good vibes.

Client Arrives
My new bestie arrives! Emily, a first time client. Initially, I will always talk with my clients about how they’re feeling. She was nervous in the beginning, but more nervous about getting there than the actual shoot. A queen. It’s totally nervewracking. Most clients are scared, it’s normal! Our babe today was nervous about being able to pose, traveling, and where to go in town. She said it is great to get the visual of me showing her how to pose. It makes it a breeze. You don’t have to be an experienced model to get flawless photos.

Shooting Magic
Next on the agenda is the luxury lingerie closet (xs-6X). I wanted to pick outfits that showed off her killer tats, as she has 50+. Our first set was in the main studio on the vanity. Splashing into our wet set next, wearing a little white crop top, fishnets, and black undies. Lastly, we shot in the lingerie room. We are done shooting for the day, so our friend heads to lunch while I download and edit. I edit with a soft retouch for our same day image reveal, and do main editing after our order appt. Let’s get into what our babe got today! Our bombshell today went with our Sapphire collection. 2 outfits plus 1 bonus set, a 10 image folio box with fine art matted prints, and a 10 image digital collection. She will come back to the studio in 4-6 weeks to do her pickup. If you’re a client who travels far, I can have it shipped to you. Our client had a hard time narrowing down her images, as we want you to! It’s a great feeling to love SO many images you can’t choose. Our friend is a dog mom, auntie, and wife. She is an adventurer, lover of the outdoors and water. She booked because she wants to look at photos and really see her beauty. I think we succeeded.
